KBA

Per IRS Publication 1345, authorization forms signed remotely must go through certain identity verification requirements known as KBA (Knowledge-Based Authentication).

Our e-signature capabilities support KBA by requesting users to verify the following fields before signing a document:
Last Name
Social Security Number
Birth Date

When sending a document for approval or signature, KBA fields will automatically populate the relevant information from a client's interview.  You can also manually add this information in:

You can also opt not to use KBA by simply unchecking the Enable KBA for this approver.

When a signature or approval request is sent, your client will receive an email with the link to sign.  Upon clicking, they'll be able to complete the KBA authentication and provide their signature or approval:
