KBA

As per IRS Publication 1345, remote authorization forms require specific identity verification through Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA).

Our e-signature capabilities fully support KBA by prompting users to verify the following fields before signing a document:

  1. Last Name
  2. Social Security Number
  3. Birth Date

When you send a document for approval or signature, the KBA fields will automatically populate the relevant information from the client's interview, simplifying the process. Additionally, if needed, you have the option to manually add this information.

By adhering to KBA requirements, we ensure a secure and compliant process for remote authorization, providing enhanced protection for both clients and preparers.

You also have the option to choose not to use KBA by unchecking the Enable KBA for this approver box.

Once you send a signature or approval request, your client will receive an email containing the link to sign the document. By clicking on the link, they will be directed to complete the KBA authentication process and proceed with providing their signature or approval. This ensures a secure and streamlined method for obtaining client signatures or approvals for the documents.
